What is school
actually for?
ÆRA is an educational framework
for ages 6 to 18.
It synthesises proven traditions from all over the world into a coherent, transferable model designed for the world children are actually entering. It is a set of principles, systems, and tools, openly documented, that any school can adopt at the level that fits their context.
This is the collaborative knowledge base.
Assessment
No child is ever ranked. But every child learns to judge their own work.
No grades, no percentages, no comparison against peers. What replaces them is harder.
→ The Aptitude MapTechnology · Ages 6–10
AI runs backstage. Children learn about it gradually through story. No direct interactions at this age.
Children at ÆRA are not sheltered from AI — they learn what it is, what it can do, and what it can't. But direct interaction waits until the foundations are built: years of analogue practice, craft judgment, and the capacity to assess an output critically. The tool arrives when the child is ready to use it well.

There is no graduation. Only the next passage.
By 18, a genuine vote. A real governance record. And the freedom to choose what comes next.
→ The Founding Stakeclaim
The best preparation for a working life in 2040 is not a credential. It is a demonstrable record of real work, developed judgment, deep curiosity, and the ability to govern oneself and others in complex situations.
